Penticton & South Okanagan Postpartum Doula Support

What is a postpartum doula? My favourite definition for doula is: "one who mothers the mother".

Everyone deserves a "village" when raising children. In reality, sometimes you need to hire your village. A postpartum doula provides household and woman-to-woman support while you navigate becoming a mother.

This is a sacred time in your life. I love the concept of 'mothering the mother' while you are in the Fourth Trimester. Whether it is making you a cup of tea, listening to you share your birth story, or holding baby while you shower and nap, I will be there for your overall wellness. I offer a holistic outlook on mama-baby care, supporting the family bond while you heal and navigate this new chapter in your life.

Please note *I currently have October 2024 availability onwards for weekend support only perfect for weekly check in visits!

What is included when I hire you?

My goal in supporting you is to help you form a bond with your baby and navigate this new chapter in your life. I am your extra set of hands to help take away the overwhelm of having a newborn.
All clients receive a support package and booklet of links to reputable information on holistic birth, postpartum, and newborn care. I also have started a small lending library with my favourite books!
I do not offer sleep training nor will I work with families who request it - however I can offer an outlook on biological mama-baby behaviour to encourage realistic expectations on infant feeding and sleeping patterns.
I am educated on breastfeeding and normal infant behaviour, however I am not an IBCLC nor medically trained. I will suggest other care providers when necessary.

Where do you serve?

I am in the West Kelowna - OK Falls area. Further away may be subject to a travel fee of 85 cents per additional km.

Do you have a sliding scale?

If you are experiencing severe financial hardship or are a single or teen mother, please reach out to discuss a sliding scale and/or payment plans. Sliding scale rates will be capped after a certain number of hours.

What is your training?

I have completed Wise Way of Birth - Postpartum Doula training, and I have additional Lactation for Doulas training as well. I am a mother to my 8 year old daughter whom I birthed at home and breastfed for 2.5 years.
