Its no secret, the Summerland Ornamental Gardens is a beautiful location for family photos! Every Spring and Summer I make sure to take my own family photos, and this spot is where we usually end up.
As much of a tourist location it is, as a local I love wandering through at least a few times a year. If you haven’t been yet, just know that there are lots of grassy areas for kids to wander around and have a picnic, as well as shady spots to get a break from strong sun.
Around mid to late may, this gorgeous tree (I suspect it is an ornamental plum - can anyone confirm?) with pink blossoms, blooms.
If you are lucky enough to be around 33-37 weeks pregnant around Springtime, you can look forward to pretty floral backdrops for your Summerland Maternity photos!
When the roses start to bloom, this is the perfect spot to check out if you love colour and the smell of roses! They have so any varieties throughout the gardens to see. Did you know that the whole rose garden is made up of Heritage Canadian roses?
